Twelve more cases since January 2019....

Unfortunately, we have to confirm a further twelve cases of cutaneous and renal glomerular vasculopathy (often termed CRGV and sometimes known as Alabama Rot).
 
The cases were from Chapel-En-Le-Frith (Derbyshire), Leeds and Huddersfield (W.Yorkshire), St Austell and Mullion(Cornwall), Chorley(Lancashire), Atherton and Bolton(Greater Manchester), Redhill and Woldingham(Surrey), Ivybridge(Devon), Manningtree(Essex). This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 189 since 2012, with 14 in 2019.
 
We are in the time of year when historically we have identified more cases of CRGV and although this disease remains rare, we continue to advise owners to be vigilant and to seek advice from their local vet if their dog develops unexplained skin lesions/sores. Although an environmental trigger for this disease is possible, this has not been proven.
